Privacy policy
The short version: we collect what we need to answer your enquiry and run the night, we don't sell it to anyone, and you can have it deleted whenever you like.
Who we are
Pub Champions is an entertainment business run by Mark Hawley, providing DJs, music bingo, quiz nights and karaoke to pubs, bars and clubs across London, Surrey, Kent and Essex. We're the data controller for everything described on this page.
Reach us on 07891 159018, or through the enquiry form — both come straight to Mark. Anything on this page can be sorted out over the phone; you won't be sent round a system.
What we collect
Only what you type into the enquiry form, plus one thing your browser sends automatically:
- Your name and email address — the two we need to reply at all
- Your phone number, if you give us one. It's optional
- The venue and town, the date you're asking about, roughly how many people, and what sort of night you're after
- Anything else you choose to tell us in the notes box
- Your IP address, briefly, so the form can't be flooded by a script. It isn't stored with your enquiry and isn't used to identify you
No payments happen on this site, so we never see a card number. If a booking goes ahead you're invoiced, and the bank details on the invoice are ours rather than yours.
Why we're allowed to hold it
You asked us for a price, so answering you is taking steps at your request before a contract— we can't quote a Tuesday without knowing which Tuesday, where, and how big the room is.
Once a night is booked we keep the same details to actually turn up and to invoice you, which is performance of that contract, and we keep the invoice itself because HMRC requires it.
Who else sees it
We don't sell your details and we don't pass them to anyone for their own marketing. A short list of services runs the business, and your enquiry passes through them:
- Airtable — where your enquiry is stored, and the diary that stops the same night being sold twice
- Vercel — hosts this site and runs the form
- Google — a confirmed booking goes into our calendar, so the venue, the date and your name sit there
- Apple or Google's notification service— sending an enquiry pings Mark's phone, and that alert carries your name and the venue so he knows what it is without opening it
We'd also share information if the law required us to.
Cookies
This site doesn't set any. No analytics, no advertising tags, nothing following you around the internet. If that ever changes, this page will say so before it does.
How long we keep it
An enquiry that doesn't turn into anything is kept while we might still be useful to each other, and deleted the moment you ask. A booking is kept for six years, because that's what HMRC expects of the invoice — ask and we'll strip it back to the bare minimum we're required to hold.
Your rights
You can ask to see what we hold, correct anything wrong, have it deleted, or tell us to stop contacting you. Ring the number at the top and we'll sort it — there's no form to fill in and it costs nothing.
If you think we've handled your information badly, tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
